The district of Neukölln is as multifaceted as the people who inhabit it. Everything your heart desires can be found here just around the corner: nice cafés, a large selection of restaurants with international cuisines, typical Berlin pubs and various supermarkets.

The Schillerpromenade in the Berlin district of Neukölln (until 1912: Rixdorf) is the central street of the Schillerkiez, a “Gründerzeit” district. With a wide central promenade and splendid facades, it was laid out around 1900 as a neighbourhood for well-off citizens, but today the street and the neighbourhood are undergoing a process of gentrification.
The Schillerpromenaden Kiez has gained great international popularity in recent years and unites many different cultures and people with each other. The educational opportunities and social institutions such as the Schilleria are important meeting places for the people in the neighbourhood. The weekly local market known as the “Schillermarkt” is also known far beyond the borders of Neukölln and takes place every Saturday and is supplemented once a month by the art and culture market.

Designer labels, artists, musicians and creative people with their own unique profiles have settled between Landwehrkanal, Sonnenallee and Hermannstraße. Culinary and cultural diversity characterise the district.
In contrast to the lively neighbourhoods of the district, there are also many beautiful parks and green spaces such as the Britzer Garten, the Gutspark at Britz Castle and the Tempelhofer Feld, the largest inner-city recreational area in the world. Art and culture can be found at Heimathafen Neukölln. Theatre events and poetry slams as well as song recitals take place there. The evening can end in one of the many bars and pubs. The public transport connections are excellent: the U8 is one of the busiest underground lines in the city. After one stop, you reach the Hermannplatz underground and suburban railway station with numerous bus lines.
